WORKING NAME: PERMITSCOPE (final brand set at launch)

Austin projects, qualified for the trades that still have to be hired.

Every week, the City of Austin issues thousands of permits. We turn them into a short, honest list of projects where a general contractor, or an owner-builder, is starting work and the scopes associated with the project, mapped to the trades that do that work. Built for specialty subcontractors: concrete, cabinets, countertops and stone, tile, glass, excavation, pool trades, landscaping, and more.

What makes this different from a permit alert

Projects, not permits.
One remodel can pull five permits. Raw feeds sell you all five as five leads. We merge them into one project. In our latest 30-day Austin run: 4,690 permits were fetched, 794 were excluded as final, expired, withdrawn, or otherwise inactive, and the remaining 3,896 were grouped into 3,064 projects, removing 832 duplicate permit records before anything reached a subscriber.
Qualified, with the reasoning shown.
Every project carries a confidence score and the exact basis for it: how recent, whether a GC is named, whether valuation and square footage are on record, how many permits corroborate it. Weak records are flagged, not hidden.
Two lead classes, honestly labeled.
Class A: a general contractor is named on the building permit, so you know who leads the project. Class B: no GC of record; a trade party or applicant is named instead. Neither class claims any scope is unfilled; the record does not say, and we do not pretend otherwise. Class C records (nobody named) stay on our watchlist and out of your paid digest.
Implied trades, marked as inferred.
A kitchen remodel is associated with cabinets, countertops, tile, and fixtures. We map scope to the trades that perform that work, and we label it as inference every time. The permit record itself never claims a trade is unfilled.

What we never claim: that a permit guarantees available work, that leads are exclusive (they are not; other firms in your trade may subscribe), or that city valuations are contract prices. Stated valuations are the city's numbers, shown with their source field, next to our clearly labeled sizing band.

How it works

1We ingest Austin's issued-permit records daily from the city's open data portal and track every project from first sight, so nothing old is ever re-sold as new.
2The engine deduplicates to the project, classifies the lead, scores confidence, and flags bad data (missing valuations, implausible values, thin descriptions).
3Your digest arrives with the projects that match your trade, who leads them, what they imply for you, and a link to the source record for every single one.

Straight answers

Where does the data come from? The City of Austin's public open data portal, the same records anyone can look up one at a time. You are paying for deduplication, qualification, and trade mapping, not for the records themselves.

Are these exclusive leads? No. We will not sell you that word. Several firms in a trade can subscribe; your edge is seeing the project the week it issues and knowing who leads it.

Does a listed project mean the GC needs my trade? It means the scope implies it and the permit just issued. Only the GC knows their sub list. We show our reasoning so you can judge before you spend a minute.

Can I see it before paying? Yes. The free sample linked above is generated from live records by the same engine that builds the paid digest, and your first two digests are free.
